Do you know about the upcoming changes to The Blue Box Program?

Under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016, Ontario’s Blue Box Regulation shifts responsibility for the Blue Box Program from the Municipality to the organizations that produce products and packaging. Under the old system, communities shared the costs.

Starting July 1, 2023, communities began transitioning their Blue Box programs to this new extended producer responsibility framework, where producers are responsible for funding and operating the recycling system.

Once the transition to the new framework is complete in 2026, producers will be fully accountable and financially responsible for recycling the products and packaging that end up in recycling bins.

What does this mean for you? Here is the link to the Recycling in Ontario website.

or Here is the Town of Parry Sound's garbage and recycling site

We'll share more information from the Municipality as we receive it.

Parking

We've received a number of calls concerning staff parking all day in front of their work place.

We kindly ask that our premium on street parking spaces be kept available for your customers.

Staff should be using other parking options found here
