Parry Sound Area Chamber of Commerce are running a visitor exit survey again this season in partnership with Explorer’s Edge to gather valuable data on visitors stay, spending habits, favourite places to eat, stay and play and more. If your business sends out any follow up thank you or newsletters to your customers, or if you’d like to share on your social media networks, we kindly ask you include this link to them to gather their feedback until the end of October.

Do you know about the upcoming changes to The Blue Box Program?

Under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016, Ontario’s Blue Box Regulation shifts responsibility for the Blue Box Program from the Municipality to the organizations that produce products and packaging. Under the old system, communities shared the costs.

Starting July 1, 2023, communities began transitioning their Blue Box programs to this new extended producer responsibility framework, where producers are responsible for funding and operating the recycling system.

Once the transition to the new framework is complete in 2026, producers will be fully accountable and financially responsible for recycling the products and packaging that end up in recycling bins.

What does this mean for you? Here is the link to the Recycling in Ontario website.

or Here is the Town of Parry Sound's garbage and recycling site

We'll share more information from the Municipality as we receive it.
